How do you do your eyebrows?

Do you tweeze, wax, or use a gadget?

When I was 17 years old, I went to a well known salon to get my eye brows waxed. This was my first time, I was nervous because I didn't know how much it would hurt! Any ways, I laid perfectly still until it was over, check the mirror quickly, paid and left. On the drive home I looked in the mirror again, only to notice I had HALF an eyebrow over my left eye! WHAT!?

When we got home my aunt called the store manager, who she knew because she had been going there for a couple years, he told us to come right back and that they would try to fix it and give us a couple gift certificates.

We drove back out and the assistant manager came flying out informing me that they would not be giving me any gift certificates and wouldn't even let us see the manager. She was so very rude, and she looked like she had spent a little too much time in a tanning booth and then fell in her makeup drawer.

We leave again, called my aunt on my cell and she was livid. Keep in mind I was 17 at the time and I was VERY shy and quiet, I was not one to cause trouble or put up a fuss. She called the manager immediately, called me back within 10 minutes and told me to go back to the salon. At this point I was really discouraged with the whole thing, half an eyebrow and dealing with that hot mess of an Assistant Manager I didn't want to bother!

When we got to the Salon for the third time the manager was outside waiting for us, gift certificates in hand. He took a look at my jacked up eyebrow and was not impressed, he sent me to get it fixed, or evened out. All while the assistant manager held her embarrassed head down.

I ended up having to use eyebrow pencils to extend my eyebrows until they finally extended. I never used the gift certificates, and I've never had my eyebrows waxed again! Obviously I should had checked my eyebrows better BEFORE I left the Salon, although I don't know how much good it would have done any ways!

  1. Thanks for stopping by Single Mom Inspirations and commenting.
I actually get my eyebrows waxed and I couldn't imagine what I would do if she ever messed them up to the point where I would have to use a eye pencil on them. I guess the good thing is that I eyebrows tend to grow back quickly.

I am now following your blog and looking forward to reading more!

  2. Relieved I never have had to deal with that. Thankfully my eyebrows are relatively tame to begin with. I tend to just leave them be.

  3. At my grandmother's salon, a woman there had an entire eyebrow accidentally waxed off! I however, have not had that bad of an experience. I just pluck a little here and there.

  4. I've only had my brows waxed once. My grandmother has told me for years that every woman deserves to get her eyebrows waxed, because it's such an invigorating feeling to not HAVE to pluck every other day (we're bushy eye-brow types in this family). I finally did get it done, the day before her funeral, just to be able to "tell" her I finally did it. (And got compliments on my brow shape at her funeral--like I said, we're bushy browed LOL!)
