Effortless Ways to Help Change the World for FREE! Part 1

Welcome to my new series, 'Effortless Ways to Help Change the World for FREE!" In this multi-part series I'm going to share ways that you can donate or help charities, even if you don't have the funds to give them money directly. I have researched and tried these methods myself and I am excited to share them, I love giving back and helping others in need, but I know we don't always have the extra cash to donate.

Part 1 in the series is going to focus on a chrome extension called 'Tab for a Cause.' I found the extension a little over a year ago from a project for awesome video. If you would like to see their video for this year you can click here to see it.

As the name suggests, every time you open a new tab on chrome you are helping a charity. The revenue from ads will go to the charities. After you have installed the google chrome extension, you can click the extension and choose how often you want each charity to show up in your tabs.

As you can see above, Tab for a Cause supports 6 charities, water.org, Room to Read, Human Rights Watch, Conservation International, International Peace Institute, and Save the Children.

Tab for a Cause is incredibly easy to use, and something so small in your every day life can make a huge difference. How many times do you open a new tab? I can't even count how many tabs I would have opened in just an hour of being on the computer!

  1. Wow! I have to check this out. I use my tabs about a million times of days. I love the idea of doing small steps to make a difference.

  2. What a great idea. I do not use Chrome though, ugh. I do donate a lot by using coupons. I know people get irritated standing behind me with my coupons and 30 jars of spaghetti sauce or 20 bags of dog food, but it allows me to get them cheap less than $1 each or free and then I donate them. It is the only way we can afford to support my need to give habit, lol.

    1. I like this idea for using coupons and may have to borrow it, especially the dog food for donation (to my local shelter).
