9/11 Anniversary - Where were you?

I remember very vividly, as I'm sure most of us do. I had just started grade 10, in a new school, it would have been the second week. I remember, I was in English class and one of my friends said one of the twin towers had been struck. At the time most of us assumed it was an accident, I think we all did. The entire school piled into the auditorium and we watched the crashes and the news for the rest of the day. As the days and weeks wore on and we learned more, it was terrifying to say the least. It left me with a whole lot of fear and uncertainty, would would/could happen next?

I want to say thank you to all of the service men and women who have given their lives on 9/11, up until now, and those who still will. The firemen, policemen, doctors, nurses, and those fighting in wars, you dedicate your lives to help and protect others.

Today is the day for us to remember those who were lost in the attacks, those who stepped up to help and those who continue to fight for our freedom.

  1. I was pregnant with my first son and sick as a dog. I couldn't decide if I was sick from the events of the day or the pregnancy - or both! I still just get a sick feeling when I remember. What a day! So thankful for those who paid and continue to pay for the freedoms I experience!
