Wow, I can't believe November is almost half way over!
I hate to say that I am about 7k words behind on the daily goal of 1,666 words, but it has been a very busy weekend and I will catch up this week, and then some! According to my word goals (which I set a little high) I should be about half way done by Wednesday! I am going to work really hard at making that deadline.
I have not even got to the biggest incident in my story and wanted to wait until about 30k words before I start on that. I have about 10 ideas to go but no matter how much I jot down I'm sure I will be scrambling for the last couple thousand words! I am excited to finish up my story, I am really happy with it!
I am still looking for sponsors who would like to donate to NaNoWriMo's nonprofit organization The Office of Letters and Light. All proceeds go directly to them, and they help bring literacy programs to children and adults all over the world! For more info you can click here!
I want to thank Geddes and LaJupetteFashion for donating to this wonderful cause! Please check them out!

NaNoWriMo has Begun!!
Finally! It's the 1st of November, and time to start writing! I need to write at least 1,667 words a day to make the 50,000 word deadline by November 30th, however using my desk calender I set a more ambitious word goal and hoping to get my 50,000 words by November 28th! I'm hoping I will be able to get a good chunk written today to give me a good head start.
On top of my desk calender I have pages and pages of notes, plot lines, character ideas and lots more. I've tried to write down a major idea every 2500-5000 words so I have lots of ideas! I hope you follow along with me on my Journey to 50,000 words!
I also have caffeine, lots and lots of caffeine!
I am still looking for Sponsors who would like to donate to The Office of Letters and Light, you can check that out HERE! It's a perfect way to help out a great cause and get some publicity for your business! Any little bit helps and is so appreciated, all funds go directly to the organization!
I hope you follow along with me on my Journey to 50,000 words!
Please check out my first sponsor Geddes school supplies! They have really cute stuff!!

NaNoWriMo - 12 days to go! Looking for Sponsors!
You might remember I posted about NaNoWriMo a little over a week ago, you can check that out here to learn more!
I have been planning and jotting down notes, plot ideas, and characters since then and I am getting really excited to actually start writing my story down! I'm trying not to think of the big picture, aka 50,000 words, but instead little steps along the way.
I can't wait to share my experience with you through the Month of November and I am even more excited to introduce you to NaNoWriMo’s parent 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the Office of Letters and Light. This program aims to bring creative writing programs to children and adults alike, and has done so for almost 350,000 kids and adults in almost 100 countries! I really believe this program is a brilliant idea and I think everyone should have the opportunity to learn to love writing and get those creative juices flowing. Literacy programs like this are SO important!
I have set up a fundraiser page that you can check out here. I would LOVE to be able to raise some money for this great organization! If you are willing to help sponsor me I would offer you free advertising during the month of November, as well as shout outs to my sponsors in each of my update posts!
None of this money is going to me, ALL money donate through my fundraising page goes directly to the Office of Letters and Light. Even if you can't donate, just sharing this post is a tremendous help and I truly appreciate it!

What the heck is a NaNoWriMo?
Last November I participated, (and won) in something called NaNoWriMo.
A simple explanation of NaNoWriMo is that participants write a 50,000 word Novel in one month. NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month and it is a little stressful but a lot of fun. I honestly did not think I would be able to complete my 'novel', but I did, and I won! You don't 'win' anything, just bragging rights. I was so proud of myself, I took it one day at a time, 1,666 words a day.
Make sure to visit the forums, you can do 'word wars' with other participants, you set a time limit and see who can write the most in that time. You can also find different tools to help you, name generators, ideas, etc. and even ways to over come your writers block! There are also 'write-ins' all over the world where you can go and meet up with other people.
There are very few rules, you and you alone can write your novel, ANY genre is a-okay, you can't start writing your novel before November but you can start your outline and plot notes early! During the month of November, don't edit! Just write! You need to get to 50,000 words, you can edit when the month is over.
What do you think? Does this sound like fun? I can't wait to start, I'm going to need to start my outline soon!
You can click here to visit the site and find out more.
