How would you save the world? #nablopomo

How would you start saving the world if you woke up tomorrow with superhuman powers?

I feel like that would be so difficult. I would have all these powers and no way to help everyone all the time. I think superpowers would be more responsibility then I could bear. For example, how would I figure out which problems would have priority? How do I determine WHO needs my help the most? What if I chose to help one person/community and in doing so something horrible happens to a community I neglected?

One thing I can say for sure though is that I wouldn't only use my powers to save the world. I would help influence others to do their part in saving the world! I would hope that other people would look up to me and they would in turn want to do their part to help save their communities and the world.

If you were a superhero, what would be your kryptonite, draining your energy?

These superhero prompts are tough. You wouldn't think it would be, but I have never been a big fan of superhero movies/cartoons/whatever so thoughts like these have never crossed my mind!

If I were a superhero... My kryptonite would be... (Have I mentioned these prompts are hard?) I guess my krypotonite would be onions. Yeah, I'm going with onions. I don't like them at all, and of course when chopping them up they make me (or most people) cry!

extreme strength or extreme speed? #nablopomo

As a superhero, would you rather have extreme strength or extreme speed?

If I was a superhero I think I would prefer extreme strength, as long as my speed doesn't go down depending on how strong I am... Does that make sense? I don't want my strength to make me slower then regular non-superhero people, and vice-versa! I wouldn't want to be really fast but really weak.

If there were no downside to the super strength, I would choose that.

If you were a superhero, what would be your hidden superpower?

Gosh, I don't even know. Hmm... I guess if I had to choose I would want something that would help people... Help  save lives, help communities grow, help those who are less fortunate? I guess that would be asking a bit too much. I would want an ability that would allow people to see each others side of an argument, and understand it. Wouldn't things be amazing if every one knew where people were coming from? They wouldn't have to AGREE or like it, but just to understand... I think that would make things a lot easier.

How do you find the energy to write when you're not in the mood?

When I am not in the mood to write I try not to force it. I typically write posts about a week in advance so most of the time I already have posts scheduled and ready to go. I feel that if I force myself to write then I will end up with no enthusiasm about my post or resent blogging, and I do not want that to happen!

If I am writing something that I really want to get done but have kind of lost my energy or spark I will listen to some music. The type of music I will listen to depends on the topic of my post. If music doesn't help I'll take a break for a bit.

I try not to write/blog during the weekends when everyone is at home. I have a hard time wanting to write when people are around and talking to me.

What blogging task takes up a lot of your energy?


The task that takes up the most energy for me would be coming up with new post ideas. I absolutely love to write, and research things, and give my opinions on my blog! When I am writing out lists of new post ideas, or thinking about what I want to write for the day there is a little voice in the back of my head that says, 'what's the point?' or 'who will read THAT'? I am not very confident, so thinking of new ideas and how to introduce them is what takes up the most energy for me.

If you could be given the option to never sleep and also never be tired, would you take it if it meant you'd also never dream again?


I think I would much rather sleep every night then never sleep again. Sure, you would get lots done within the first few days, or even weeks, but after awhile I think you would get pretty bored trying to find things to occupy your time. What would you do after you have done everything on your 'to-do list'?

Now, if I had the OPTION of sleeping if I wanted to, that would be great! Having the option to pull a couple all nighters if and when I need to get stuff done... THAT would be awesome! I just don't think I would want to do it EVERY night!

What is your favourite song that gives you energy?

Tough question!  I don't think I could pick just one song because it changes so frequently... Every week I could pick a new song that I just play on repeat during the last 10minutes of a run, giving me the energy and motivation to finish!

Right now when I am cooking or cleaning I am listening to Ed Sheeran. I am pretty obsessed with his songs right now, they aren't all upbeat but they are just so beautiful in my opinion, I just sing along and can finish whatever I need to do.

As for exercise, I have a long playlist of songs that I cycle through. I have a playlist of about 20-40 upbeat songs and then some slower classics thrown in. From 2pac, to Meatloaf, to Rihanna, to Eminem, I have a wide variety of music that gives me energy.

At what time of day do you feel the most energetic and productive?



I slowly became a morning person after getting out of high school. Of course while I was in school I didn't want to get up and go and would stay in bed until the last possible second, and very often miss the bus.

After I was out of school, I started to babysit my brother for 9-13 hours a day so I had to be up early. I very rarely sleep in now, and when I do 9am is a 'late morning'. I definitely feel like I get the most done in the morning now. Like my mom, I want to get things done as soon as I wake up. I'll sometimes make a list the night before of the things I need to do the next day, then I will try to get it all done in the morning so I have the rest of the day to do whatever I want.



Caffeine always helps too :D

What is your favourite way to recharge when you feel drained of energy?



When I am feeling like I need to recharge I will either grab some caffeine, or lay in bed and watch Dr. Phil or read a book. I have never really thought about it as 'recharging' but now that I look back at it, that's exactly what it is. When I am drained mentally, physically, whatever, laying in bed with a good book or watching TV is a nice, comfy way to zone out.

This months 'Energy' theme has really got me thinking. One of my Day Zero goals is to start doing yoga and I feel yoga would be a great way to re-energize while doing something that's good for the body. Once I start I'm thinking/hoping it will be relatively easy to bring out the yoga mat and do a few poses to re-gain some energy and focus my thoughts.

Which daily tasks take up the most of your energy?



The things that take the most energy out of my day is dealing with my dogs. Yes, we do have 5 of them and it was our decision to have so many dogs, but they are very well taken care of, they are all up-to-date on their shots, they are all spayed/neutered, and they are always tied and confined to keep them safe. We love them to bits but they are still pains in the butt sometimes!!

Especially around 3:30pm. We feed them supper at 4pm and I swear they can tell time. As soon as the clock hits 3:30pm they start running around like mad and playing, barking and whining. Driving me crazy! Another thing is putting them all outside. We have 1 big dog, Spike, who has his own big heavy duty chain, he is a STRONG dog and wears a cow collar because it's the only thing he hasn't broken yet! They other 4 small dogs are all under 15pounds and share a chain, so I put them out one by one. The small dogs are easy to put out and bring back in, but if the big dog doesn't want to come in and I'm the only one home, he is staying out there until he is ready. He will listen to my mom or boyfriend but he will not listen to me! Even if I'm offering up treats!

Our dogs are part of our family and treated like royalty, no matter how much energy they take up!

From where do you draw your energy?


I have no idea how to answer this question. I have never really thought about it before... What kind of energy are we talking? Physical or mental? Emotional?

I guess that I draw my energy from motivation... Motivation to move and get active, or motivation to get writing, just motivation to get something done! Now mustering up some motivation sometimes is difficult! But that's a topic for another day!

As part of the New Year, I am going to (try really hard) leave all the negativity from 2012, IN 2012. Negativity, drama, gossip, whatever you want to call it drains your energy and puts stress on you without you even realizing it sometimes. I'm hoping that by dropping a lot of the negativity I will have more energy, mental, physical, emotional, etc!
