Bright, Bright, NEONS!

I have always been drawn to neon colors. In my opinion nothing is prettier then neon pink, orange, yellow... While I am not brave enough to rock a full-on neon outfit, I would love some more simple pieces to work into an outfit. Shirts, dresses or pants, or even some bold neon accessories to spice up an outfit.

*note to self, by more neons!!!

Those shoes and clutches? AMAZING.

Colored jeans

Another big trend right now... Colored jeans. It has been around for awhile, but it was something that I didn't really 'embrace' at first. I wasn't sure I could rock the look of bright jeans. I picked up a couple standard colors (red and blue) and I really love the boldness.

It's a rainbow of jeans!!

I am a pretty frugal shopper when it comes to clothes. I don't like spending more then $20-$25 on pants. When I was looking for a pair of colored jeans, the first place I looked was Old Navy. I find sometimes old navy is kind of expensive, (again, I like to get a bargain on my clothes) I had looked online previously and their colored jeans were $35 and I wasn't sure I wanted to pay that much, but if you are patient, Old Navy has great sales and coupons all the time. There was a 30% off sale at the time and I found a pair of red jeans in the clearance section, I think I ended up paying about $17!

Anyways, I gathered up a list of colored jeans for the frugal shopper:

Keep in mind when shopping online to use Ebates!! You get cash back on your purchases, and Old Navy is one of MANY stores you can earn cash back at while shopping. Click here to sign up!

Color blocking.

Color blocking has been a pretty big trend for awhile now and I thought I would go play on polyvore to see if I can make a few outfits revolving around color blocking.

What do you think? Did I do a good job or did I miss the mark? I love how bright everything is, doesn't it just scream warn weather?! I love this trend and I love bright colorful outfits, even if sometimes I am not brave enough to rock them. I'm picking up bright pieces lately and have been trying my hand at pulling off some bright, bold looks. It just makes me happy looking at them!

OOTD, Purse review

I thought I would post an outfit of the day and while doing so do a little review of the purse I blogged about here.

Blazer: OldNavy
Dress: Forever21
Shoes: Octavia from Shoedazzle
Bag: Ebay

Now, onto the purse! I was really excited when I found this purse on ebay for just $25 dollars. I was even more excited after Iredell came out! They look almost identical and I paid half of what I would had I bought it from Shoedazzle!

I was a little worried about the quality of the bag but I have to say I am very pleased. They color is just as vibrant in real life as it is on the ebay listing and the bag is very sturdy and well made. I'm sure it will last quite a while!

I tried to show how roomy the bag is, I have my wallet, cell phone
a decent sized makeup bag (the julep bag here) and a
soft cover book, and it's a good sized book! (Shine by Lauren Myracle)

The only thing I can complain about is the way you open the bag.
As you can see you have to undo the lock, take out the straps, etc.
I thought it opened from the top, so I will be leaving it open!

I will definitely be purchasing this bag in other colors. White for sure, and maybe orange or red... or pink!

Pink Blazer! (OOTD+Review!)

I received the Pink Blazer I talked about in this post on Friday and I have to say I am VERY pleased! I was worried about the fit because I find when buying clothes on ebay they seem to run small but I ordered a large and the fit is perfect! The pink is so bright and vivid and the material is really soft, almost silky.

It took 15 business days to get to me, which I expected because the item was coming from Hong Kong!

I wore her today with yellow Gwen, black bedford, a plain black tanktop and a pair of straight leg jeans.

Ignore my face... I'm sure it's just something my boyfriend said!

Blazers!!

There's no denying the fact that blazers are a hot fashion piece. They come in many colors and can seriously flatter your frame.

The trend has been around for quite some time now but I've only recently picked up a couple, mostly because I wasn't sure I could pull it off and because I wanted to find a good deal, (always a bargain hunter!)

I found my first blazer when Old Navy had their 75% off sale, I found a fitted blazer that fit perfectly for just $11! I really wanted some colorful blazers too but it took me awhile to take the plunge.

I found this one on ebay for $25, it also comes in blue, orange and black.
Once I know what the fit is like, I'm hoping to grab the blue too!
Link Here!

Comes in green, blue, black, red and white. I'm going to pick up the green
Canada: $29.90 | US $24.90

Here are a few of my outfit ideas for my Blazers, using shoes and purses I own:

What comes first, the outfit or the shoe?

When looking through your showrooms on the first of the month (or any time really) do you have an idea of what you will wear with your picks or do you decide/go shopping afterward?

I don't think about outfits until after I buy a shoe, even if there's nothing in my wardrobe I can pair them with. For example... My first two March picks were Orange Mulberry and Salmon Octavia... I really had no idea what I would wear them with but I really needed wanted to add some color to my shoe collection. Maybe I was a little impulsive or maybe I just gave myself an excuse to do a little more shopping! As soon as I bought them I headed over to polyvore.com to get some outfit ideas. Most of the time the outfits I pick are way too expensive so I tend to ignore the prices and pick out an outfit, and then try to find a cheaper version.

Cute right? Not your style? That's okay... Polyvore has thousands of options! Now I have some ideas in mind for what would work... And now I can go shopping!

Shoedazzle: Leopard Carvela

My quest for a leopard print heel finally came to an end yesterday.

For months I told myself I just wasn't an animal print girl, I mean I do think the animal print shoes are cute (in some cases) but I didn't think it was something I would ever wear. But then one day while playing around on Polyvore and I created a set with a shoe that looked a lot like Mariska from Shoedazzle and decided I had to have a leopard print shoe and that Mariska was the one I wanted. It's not like I had created some amazing outfit or anything, I just really liked the possibilities in a leopard print shoe.

So my lovely boyfriend bought me Mariska on his shoedazzle account. (Yes he has one to buy/surprise me with.) I was so excited! I waited for nearly two weeks and  finally received my notice of delivery card in my mail box. I went to the post office to pick her up and when my lovely mail lady passed me the box... I knew it wasn't Mariska. It was a boot box. I went home and opened up my box and inside was a boot I had not ordered in a size and a half too big. My boyfriend called immediately to get a replacement but there was no Mariska in my size left, so I got Lavender in black instead, which I love.

I stalked Mariska for awhile, but never did find an 8.5. After awhile the steal section added Carvela in Leopard and I decided to give her a try. I loved the heel height which was about the same as Mariska and the T strap was a definite plus! So I placed an order of about 4 things and waited for Carvela to arrive.

Everything else arrived and then finally I got my last delivery card in my mail box! I went inside, got my package, and went home to open it. I honestly worried there would be another boot box when the mail lady brought it out!

When I got home and opened it, Carvela was not inside. Bummed, I called customer service who sent me a replacement after I sent pics in, luckily my size was still available! (The CS were super nice both times.)

Now Carvela was the only thing I was waiting for at this point so when I went to the post office to pick her up, I held my breath as I ripped open the package. Finally it was my leopard print heel! They fit perfectly and I love them! And of course, what's in stock right now as I write this post? Mariska in an 8.5!

I have to say that CS is always a pleasure to deal with always helpful and kind while doing so and I totally understand that these things happen! Sometimes it may seem like we see a lot of complaints on the facebook page of defects/being sent the wrong shoe or size. But In my 50+ purchases with shoedazzle these are the only 2 times I have ever had a problem. I just thought it was a funny coincidence that they were both the leopard print heel I was on a quest to own!

Waiting for Spring...

Winter is well under way here in Canada. The temperature today is -15, but feels like -25 and it will only get colder. On days like today thoughts of fashion and shoes go out the window and all I'm thinking about is staying warm. Big puffy coats, my heaviest boots and mittens that only sometimes match my hat and coat. I don't care if I look like the abominable snowman, when I'm walking around the Village I gotta keep warm.

Don't get me wrong, I love being outdoors. I love skating, sledding, skiing and I don't even mind shovelling snow, even after the 20th snowstorm! But I can't help counting down the days until Spring begins and watching the weather network for the temperatures to climb back up, so of course I am already thinking about spring outfits.

Here are a few of the many Polyvore sets I've created while lusting after Spring.

I really hate complaining about temperatures because it will get colder, and then in summer it will be too hot! But I miss wearing all my cute clothes, shoes, and boots!

Spring Loves

These have been my Spring Loves for this past season:

I have been really in love with the Nautical inspired items this Spring. I have been drawn to reds/navy blues/whites and have been putting together outfits with those colors. For example I found a simple navy blue tank dress and paired it with a white cardigan, red belt and a red purse.

A go to piece for me was definitely a plain white long sleeved shirt that I wore under a green Military jacket, a good pair of skinny jeans and a boot. (Matilda or Millie from Shoedazzle are my favs, I can never have enough boots)

Another love of mine is chunky sweaters. They are so comfy and easy. So great for spring when the weather doesn't know if it wants to be cold or warm!

The floral trend is something I loved to wear too. From my shoes to my shirts to dresses to accessories. I love me some floral print! An outfit that I would wear a lot this spring was a long sleeved floral shirt, a chunky button down cardigan, skinny jeans and boots. (Have I mentioned I love boots?) Or a plain v-neck tee and floral flats. Sorry I don't have an example for this one!

Sorry the pics aren't the greatest, I have no one who was available to take pictures for me... I really need to train my little brother to be my photographer...
